Pokemon E3 Reveals - Fairy Type, 2 New Pokemon and more
Nintendo just spilled the beans at E3. The new Fairy Type was officially announced, 2 new Pokemon were revealed, there's a new game-play trailer, and a new system to interact with your Pokemon called Pokemon-Amie was shown off.

New Info
  • Pokemon X and Y will officially launch on October 12th, 2013.
  • The Male protagonist character is name Xavier.
  • New Fairty type move shown in the trailer called Fairy Wind.

An 18th type has been added to Pokemon X and Y which is called Fairy Type. The new Eevee form, Sylveon is Fairy Type. They've also reclassified some old Pokemon with the new type: Jigglypuff, Gardevoir, and Marill. There's bound to be even more Pokemon that get retyped with Fairy too!

Fairy Type moves are super effective against Dragon-type Pokemon. Until Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, Dragon-type Pokemon had only two weaknesses: Ice-type moves and Dragon-type moves. So, this new type could spice up the competitive scene a little too.

Two New Pokemon
noivern new pokemon x yNoivern

Noivern is extremely combative toward anything that wanders too close to it. It flies through even the darkest nights using ultrasonic waves it emits from its ears. This Pokemon loves fruit, and feeding it fruit will keep it calm. Noivern can learn a move Struggle Bug as displayed in the new game-play trailer.

Type: Flying/Dragon
Height: 4' 11"
Weight: 187.4 lbs.

New way to Interact with Pokemon
Pokemon-Amie
pokemon amie playing with snorlaxThis feature lets you play with your Pokemon, give them treats, and even scratch and pet them using the touch screen. They tell us that friendly Pokemon may perform better in battle and possible other good things will happen. You should probably expect to be playing Amie with your Pokemon a lot on Pokemon X and Y.

It looks like smaller Pokemon will fit on the top screen while bigger Pokemon will stretch all the way onto the bottom screen.

I garuntee you that Cleffa, Clefairy, & Clefable are now Normal/Fairy type. After all, Clefairy & Clefable are Fairy Pokemon according to there species name.

Yeah, I agree with that.
I really do wish you could start with a starter that isn't Fire, Water, or Grass type for once. Heck, I would have loved starting out with a Aron in Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. wah

I'd like a Fennekin on my team. It seems that in the released video, it learns Psychic-type moves, which often leads to a decend special attack stat. Most Psychic and Fire-type moves are special attack, and the STAB coverage is great.
